The following local contraindications will not always prevent treatment but your therapist will avoid the contraindicated area or modify treatment:
Cuts/Abrasions
Skin disease or disorder
Nose prosthesis implant
Open wound on the treatment area
Metal Plates or Pins (cannot treat over area)
Botox or Fillers in area (must wait 4 weeks after Botox, 2 weeks after Fillers, or seek clinician/prescriber approval)
Fungal infection on area
We may ask for a list of any medications you are taking
Active Cold Sore
Please seek medical advice prior to booking a SmartMeso Facial if you have any of the following. Medical permission in writing would need to be obtained:
Undiagnosed lumps and swellings.
Cancer or chemotherapy within the past 12 months ( must wait one year after last chemotherapy treatment - or seek clinician approval).

Infectious skin diseases (Impetigo, Scabies, Chicken Pox or Mumps)
Acute or Chrionic illness (seek medical approval).
Pregnancy
Heart problems or cardiac pacemaker
Autoimmune disease (seek medical approval)
Heart, Liver, Kidney, Visceral disease or malignant tumor (seek medical approval)
Cerebral infarction (strokes) and cerebral haemorrhage
Peeling from sunburn in area (must wait at least 4 weeks after peeling)
Cancer or chemotherapy within the past 12 months ( must wait one year after last chemotherapy treatment - or seek clinician approval).
An allergy to any ingredients (please list any allergies you have during the consultation - or contact us with any queries)
Avoid washing your face or area that has been treated for 6 hours post treatment
Avoid scratching or rubbing the area treated
Avoid washing with excessively hot water
An appropiate moisturiser should be applied every day following treatment for at least 7 days to help maximise treatment results
Over exposure to the sun should be avoided
Suanas should not be used for one week
A good sunscreen SPF 20+ should be applied regularly to the treatment area
Some redness on the skin is normal and should subside quickly, but if it does not or any abnormal side effects are experienced, please contact us or your Doctor immediately so that appropiate advice can be given
